On Tuesday, Bungie delivered the first part of their Annual Pass content, kick-starting the Black Armory update, which introduced players to a new End Game activity, The Lost Forges, of which The Forge Of Volundyr is the first. (I feel as if we slowly descending into High Fantasy in Destiny 2 now)

At launch, the power requirements for playing the Lost Forge activity were listed as 610 but that was only for the first wave. The second wave of enemies come in at 625 level and then the final Forge boss at 630.

It should be noted, that before the update dropped, the max light level a player could get was 600. The update bumped up the max light level to 650, but all the other non-forge activities only provide +1 rewards, so players were essentially left to grind the same old activities to meet the new light level.

After some complaints, most notably a Forbes report, Bungie has introduced a hotfix for the situation, confirming that they would be lowering the light level for each phase by 5. For those of you with quick maths, that’s 605, 620 and 625 respectively.

Bungie announced this on Twitter accompanied with a path note. In the short statement Bungie has said:

“It’s become clear that we made the initial Power requirements for the Lost Forges too high, keeping those sweet new rewards out of reach.”

They also said that while this is not the only change they will be making to the Lost Forges:

“We fully acknowledge that this is a small move, but it is the one that we can make today. This is not the full extent of the changes to the player experience that we are investigating, but it should give Guardians at 600 Power a better chance at completing the activity.”

So you can expect the Light Level Limit for the Lost Forges to go down even further in the future.

You can read the entire statement here.

Personally, I see this going the way of the exotic quest “Ace Of Spades”, where Bungie realized that one of the quest steps was too steep and patched it nicely. I think its pretty neat that Bungie were able to respond so quickly and positively to player feedback. But what do you think, would you be giving the Lost Forge another chance?
