Steam Sales, or for that matter any games’ sales are very testing times for gamers over selecting games. Personally, I always select a balance of genres I am familiar with and genres where I’ll be treading unknown ground, but the biggest hurdle for me and many other gamers is selecting games on a certain budget. I believe that INR 1000 is the ISB (Indian Standard Budget) for an average gamer, so here is a list of games you can get within 1K INR with some variety thrown in and one game not taking up half your budget:

EYE Divine Cybermancy- INR 147

I am surprised that not many people talk about this game considering that FPS and RPGs are some of the highest selling genres and EYE is a pretty good combination of both. I am about 6 hours into the game and within that much time, the amount of customization available to the player, the non-linear levels and the many other systems simply astound me and they work in tandem to make this one of the most engrossing RPGs (Mechanically) I have ever played. A bonus for me is that the game is not easy.

Ibb & Obb- INR 163

Ibb & Obb is a cute little 2D puzzle game with minimalist graphics which can only be played in co-op. Don’t be fooled by it’s simple aesthetic though, it is quite challenging due to it’s physics based gameplay. I had quite a lot of fun back in day and if you even have a non gamer friend around, this can be a good entry into gaming since it is more application of mind than twitch reflexes. PS- I would suggest that you buy the double pack which is for just INR 183.

Ori & The Blind Forest: Definitive Edition- INR 284

Ori & The Blind Forest is in my opinion one of the most mastercrafted games this gen and this is coming from someone who is not a fan of the Metroidvania games. It has a diverse and colorful art style, a great soundtrack, a well crafted world and is extremely smooth to play. It is a visceral experience that I am never going to forget.

Metro Redux Bundle- INR 182

This is probably the most value for money deal on the list when it comes to content/cost ratio. Both Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light are highly atmospheric FPS games which add some more mechanics to the standard modern day shooter and with Metro Exodus coming in 2018, this is the right time to jump into the series.

Shadow Warrior- INR 84

Liked Doom? Well then this game is very much up your alley. With fast paced movement, intensive gore and being able to wield a Katana among a large varity of weapons with different attacks at break neck speeds, it never gets old. At INR 84, it is a very good proposition, it’s simply ‘Wangtastic’.

Transistor- INR 84

Transistor is a game made by the creators of Bastion, a game I thoroughly loved due to it’s narrative and gameplay. Transistor lies in the same veins, but mixes up the gameplay a little, with a sort of mix between turn based and real time combat. I am about 3 hours into the game and the most distinctive parts of the game lie in it’s presentation, art style, gameplay and the soundtrack. It has me hooked.

Total- INR 966

Well, we are still left with about 34 INR, why not just save it for the next sale. What do you think about the list? Have you played any of them before? Would you recommend the games to everyone else? Let us know that and more in the comments below.
