Spiderman: New info on resolution, fps, Miles Morales and release date revealed

Insomniac’s Spiderman was Sony’s showstopper for their E3 press conference, it wins everyone’s heart with that awesome nine minutes long gameplay trailer. It was also the most talked about game from Sony’s E3 2017 briefing.

The gameplay trailer shown during the conference was jam-packed with quick-time-events and huge scale Uncharted-like set-pieces. It also showed some of the combact mechanics (that looks a lot like Batman Arkham-style) and stealthy gameplay.

Well, Insomniac is sharing a bit more info on Twitter for their anticipated title. When asked whether the game would run at 4K at 60fps on PS4 Pro, the studio replied conversely that “it’s 4K/30 on Pro, 1080p/30 on Standard/Slim”. The game will be using Insomniac’s temporal injection solution for 4K resolution on PS4 Pro (declining to the fact that it’s not been upscaled from 1080p for PS4 Pro).

Furthermore, when one fan asked whether we will be seeing Mary Jane or any other possible love interest in Spiderman, Insomniac replied that “Peter does have someone special in his life” but “as usual… it’s complicated”.

Also, there will be no Symbiote appreance in the game which can only mean we won’t get to see one of Spiderman’s best villain, Venom. While staying true to the “original [Spiderman] universe and story” the game “doesn’t follow a specific comic story” alongside “familiar characters” to be seen “in new roles”, according to the studio.

The studio will also give us choices to approach gameplay as per our likes, whether you want to go stealthy or go full bang-bang, there will be viable options to encounter enemies.

And finally, when asked about whether or not Miles Morales plays a major role in the game or whether he’s just a NPC, the studio replied vaguely that “this is a Peter Parker story, but Miles does have a role to play in that story”. Now start developing your conspiracy theories.

The game is set for a early 2018 release, though Insomniac declined the recent listing by GameStop implying a June 30 release date saying its just a placeholder.
