Shin Megami Tensei V Announced For Nintendo Switch

After promising to reveal the new Shin Megami Tensei game today, developer ATLUS has finally released a Japanese trailer that gives us our first look at the newest mainline installment in the long-running dungeon crawler RPG series.

Titled Shin Megami Tensei V, it seems to continue the franchises’ legacy of a post apocalyptic Earth ravaged by demons. The trailer doesn’t tell us much (not unless you understand Japanese) though it does show off a boy and a girl, both in their teens (perhaps potential protagonists?) walking down a busy train station. Moments later the scene shifts to a crowd of paralysed (or maybe dead?) demons strewn about inside an underground tunnel, after which the two characters are shown to be attacked by a horde of flying gargoyle-like creatures. Yup, that’s SMT for you.

The game is using Unreal Engine 4 and is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Hopefully they’ll release further information soon.. Stay tuned for more details.
