Fans looking forward to messing around with mods in the upcoming Fallout 76 will be disappointed. Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 76 will not be supporting mods at launch, or even for an entire year for that matter. The supported mods will only be available on private servers too.
As Pete Hines told Gamespot:
“Mod support is going to be tied to work that we’re also doing on private servers, and letting people do private servers. Mods will be a thing that runs on private servers.”
While it makes sense for the game to not support mods in public servers, delaying mod support by a year is only going to turn off fans of the series. Hines concluded that it will take a lot of work but mods and private servers will be coming to Fallout 76
